Mt Bromo & Penanjakan Sunrise Tour
We traveled by a van from Surabaya Plaza Hotel to Mt Bromo area in the mid night. Then traveled up to Mt Penanjakan by a 4WD Jeep. The whole journey took about 3to 4 hrs.
To view the beautiful sunrise, i only took a short nap in the van while traveling. But actually there were too many corners to turn along the way and the road condition is bad, so i dun think anyone can really sleep well. But luckily i have been working night shift this 2 years, so this is OK to me :P
When we arrived at the Mt. Penanjakan, there were already many people waited for the sunrise. Most of the people were getting ready their camera to take a good shot on the beautiful sunrise. I think this is one of the popular activity in Surabaya.
Below are the sunrise photos taken using my camera. The Mt Bromo is at the background in the photo.

Racing Girls in Auto Show 2010
I went to the auto show with my friend LT on saturday. This event was held at the Expo beside the Dang City Mall.
This time round there are more cars was exhibited compare to the one held at Persada Johor 2 weeks ago. But the important thing is there are racing girls in this event.
Haha, so our focus was shifted to taking photos on the racing girls instead of the cars. But it was pity that we only saw two girls in the event.
This is a good chance for me to practise taking portrait photo on people.
Many thanks to the 2 models as they were very generous on giving many different poses for me to practise.
Maybe not used to this environment, so feel a bit embarrass and nervous. Haha, think still need more practise. :P

Auto Show 2010
I went to the auto show 2010 that held at Persada Johor on 12nd March. Maybe is because that day is friday, so not much people go for the show.
There will a Meet-The-fans Session with Evolusi KL Drift 2 artist on 14th. But too bad, I won't be free on that day.
The above are some photos that were taken in the show. All the car owners must be spending a lot on the modification and decoration.
Haiz... A bit disappointed that there is no race girls in this autoshow.So can only take picture on the cars. :P

Kek Lok Si, The Temple of Supreme Bliss
The Kek Lok Si temple is the largest buddhist temple in Penang. It is located in Air Itam. You can reach there by bus 201 or 204. It is quite near to the Penang Hill. So it is good to plan visiting these 2 places in the same day.
Visiting a big temple like this will make people feel peaceful and free from worry.
Penang Hill
Penang Hill is one of the famous tourist attractions. It is 735m(2450ft) above sea level.
There is a direct bus (204) from KOMTAR bus terminal to Penang Hill Railway Station.
Then you can take the funicular train to the top of the hill. I heard there will be an upgrade project for this train system. A new railway system that will take passengers straight up to the hill will be implemented. So no need to change train halfway in the future.
There is a big landmark "Bukit Bendera" on the top of the hill. Penang Hill is originally called as Flagstaff Hill, Bukit Bendera is the Malay name.
You can view the Georgetown from the top of Penang Hill. The view from the hill makes people feel relax.
Public Transport in Penang RAPID PENANG
The main transportation during my 3D2N trip is the public bus. Rapid Penang is one of the leading bus operator in Penang.
The bus is similar to the new single decker bus that can be found in Singapore. The condition of the bus is also well maintained. The website http://www.rapidpg.com.my/ allows us to check all the information regarding the schedule and fares. So it is very useful for visitors especially those budgeted bag packers.
There is one free shuttle bus CAT (Central Area Transit) that can bring you around the central area of Georgetown. I took this HOP ON FREE Bus to familiar this place. It is a cheap way to travel and you won't worry that will lost your way in an unfamilar place.
Accommodation for the 3D2N Penang trip
For this 3D2N penang trip, I will stay at Tune Hotel.
It is located at the center of Georgetown and is about 15 minutes walking distance from KOMTAR Bus Terminal.
I booked the hotel through the website http://www.tunehotels.com/ in advance. From the website, you can select the options such as air-conditioning, wireless Internet access, toiletries and so on. The attractive point is you paid for what you need.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The location is also quite good. So I think I booked the right hotel for this trip. :P

Tiger in Zoo
This photo was taken in Melaka Zoo during the feeding session.
From the tiger's smiling face, we can feel the tiger was really enjoying its meal.
This photo was taken in Singapore Zoo while the white tiger was having its lunch in year 2009.
There is a sad incident happened in year 2008 that a worker was dead after attacked by the white tigers in Singapore zoo.

My Lens
Sony DT 18-70mm F3.5-5.6
Focal range = 18mm to 70mm
Aperture = F3.5 - 5.6
Filter diameter = 55mm
Weight = 235g
This is the kit len that come together with my first DSLR A350.Most of the time i'm using this kit len to take portrait and landscape photo.
Minolta AF 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 D
Focal length = 75mm to 300mm
Aperture = F4.5-5.6
Filter diameter = 55mm
Weight = 490g
This second hand zoom len was bought from Clubsnap forum.
The condition of this len is still very good. This zoom len helps me to take the photo from far distance which can't reach by the kit lens.
Basically, this two lens cover the full range of shots that i will take most often. The only thing I don't like is the need of changing lens. Sometimes it is inconvenient to change lens at some situation and it also might miss the valuable scene while changing lens.
Therefore the next len on my list is SAL18250. :P
My first DSLR Sony A350
This is my first DSLR Sony A350.
Many people asked me before why you buy Sony and not Canon or Nikon?
Frankly speaking, i also quite confuse before i bought this DSLR as there are too many brand in the market like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Fujifilm and so on. It is hard to make a wise decision.
I think photography is not just use expensive camera to take photo. It really needs a lot skill. I don't wish to buy an expensive camera then at the end underutilized it.
Finally, i bought Sony A350 is because the price and specification is more suitable to me- a budgeted entry level DSLR user. Hopefully, I can learn and improve my photograhpy skill with this Sony A350. :P
